Allergies: Nut-Free base massage oils are used as standard. However, trace cross-contamination is possible during aroma blending, and the clinic does not guarantee a 100% nut-free environment. Please advise of any allergies of any kind during your documentation and orientation time prior to the session.
Appointments: Sessions are by appointment only, due to our need to co-ordinate all our contracts and business commitments. Hours are negotiable, and may be out of the 9 to 6 timezone by mutual agreement. Just contact us!
Aromatherapy and Medicaments: A selection of aromatherapy, general therapy and sports oils and medicaments are available. These can be blended in with the carrier oil generally, or used individually on specific body areas. Special blending requests are dependent on available ingredients, so please advise the clinic ahead of time.
Bathroom: Please empty your bladder before attending the session. If needed in-clinic, a bathroom is available for your convenience. While most clients are ok during the session, relaxing music & / or gentle pressure over the lower back, abdomen, and other areas can make one or two people want to go.
Benefits: It has been well researched that many people can obtain significant health benefits from a relaxation session or a therapeutic massage. Specific benefits may include assisting the healing process of a health condition or injury. General benefits include stress reduction, improved blood sugar control, improved blood pressure and circulation (blood and lymph), movement flexibilty, normalised sleep patterns, enhanced concentration / productivity, and regaining interest in daily activities including relationships.
Breasts/Chest: The centre of breast (Nipple area) is not massaged on either female or male clients during a standard massage sequence. If you feel that you have a therapeutic need for this service, (e.g.: chest surgery, breast cancer, scars, etc), please discuss this at the time of booking, as additional healthcare documentation may be required, or we may need to refer you. Note that the chest (upper / side / lower) and abdominal areas are not within the breast nipple definition, and are standard massage areas.
Buttocks: This area is a major therapy junction between the back, abdomen, hips, pelvis and legs. So many muscles and nerves are in / around this general area. For this reason, it is a standard massage area, within general consent.
Cancellations: If you can't make your appointment, for whatever reason, we understand. However please note that we have set time aside for you, and probably refused other clients who wanted your appointment spot. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment time, then we will go halves with you and bill you for 50% of the time charge, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Chair Therapy: Some therapies such as sinus, face, neck and head (scalp) can be done while you are sitting in a chair. This is often seen during a (fully clothed) mini-massage in the shopping mall or outdoors community event.
Children: Therapy clients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a consenting parent or legal carer at all times during the session, in accordance with the profession's National Code of Conduct, and our own standards of practice. A child / student cannot attend alone with only a note from the parent - thank you for your understanding.
Clothing: Massages may be wet (oils and lotions) or dry (done over a drape sheet or thin clothing). As our massages are wet as standard, please choose clothing that you are happy to get a splash of oil or lotion on, either during the massage or after when re-dressing. We do not provide advice about stained clothing (which is very rare), but normal laundering is usually adequate to remove spots.
Consent: We obtain your consent for massage prior to the start of the session, when we go over the intended relaxation or treatment plan with you. If there is a major variation required or intended midway through a session, we will check with you along the way. If we cannot obtain consent we may not be able to assist you with a certain therapy. If possible, an agreeable alternative solution will then be suggested to you.
Cough Cold & Flu: If you are suffering from a bad cold, there is a risk that vigourous massaging may actually spread the virus around the body and worsen your temporary ailment. Please advise staff if you are infected - we may need to reschedule your appointment, depending on severity and duration.
Diagnosis Disclaimer: Any information given in this website (and by staff) is for general use only. No individual diagnosis or specific indication is provided. Please consult your family doctor. We are happy to refer you to a specialist practitioner where required.
Dizziness After Massage: After lying on a table relaxing for a while, you may feel dizzy for a brief moment when sitting up to get off the table at the end of the session. To limit this risk including the risk of then falling over, please ask for help, slowly sit up, gently place your legs over the side of the table, and then slowly and gently stand up, while holding on to the table.
Documentation: Health care codes of best practice require us to record your basic personal and any relevant medical / health information prior to and as a result of the therapy session. This process is private and secure. We will not offer nor divulge anything about you to anyone, unless you specifically tell us to, (or we are directed by law to do so).
Draping: Draping (covering parts of your body not currently being massaged) is offered as standard. Please advise us what level of draping and comfort you require. During the therapy some people feel colder as they relax deeply (just like in the sleep cycle), while others feel warmer and envigorated. Feel free to adjust draping as needed.
Dressing-Undressing: (a) Whole body massage - we allow you to change in private, (b) Specific smaller targeted area massage - you may be able to wear shorts and t-shirt, or similar.
Family Friendly (and Individual Friendly): Clients of all ages and backgrounds are welcome. Feel free to have an adult partner or friend attend the session. All we ask is that the other person sits quietly and does not interupt the session, (mobile phones and portable electronic devices etc must be totally silent). Apologies in advance that we cannot have children unattended while a session is in progress.
Feedback: We really appreciate any and all feedback from you, our valuable clients. If it is good, then we know we have met your needs. If it is less than optimal, then we want to understand your concerns and review the experience, according to your point of view. This includes our website / FAQ.
Footwear: you may be a little slippery from the massage, under your feet. Take care and hold on when getting off the massage table. Your feet may still be a little slippery even if the excess oil has been wiped off.
Groin/Genitals: Pelvic and groin issues and injuries often do occur and require therapy. We appreciate the intimate and sensitive nature of this area. Please note, genitals are excluded from standard massage routines.
Health Funds: Most major health funds - Sydney: written receipts available. Bathurst: hicaps claim machine in clinic.
Hot Stone Therapy: Placement of smooth heated stones on massage areas have a wonderful relaxation and therapy benefit. It allows the muscles to relax more so the therapist can massage deeper. Warm stones feel great!
Hygiene: Client: please advise staff of any cuts / wounds or active illness you have. Therapist: adheres to strict hand and general clinic hygiene for your health and safety.
Jewellery: If you are having a whole body massage or therapy that includes the kneck and arms/hands, please remove all necklaces, bracelets, watches, and larger fancy rings, (etc). (Leave tight ring bands on).
Make-up (Cosmetics): If possible and you are happy, please do not wear any cosmetics when you require the face and neck to be massaged. Bring a headband, clip or tie to raise your hairline out of the way, if needed.

Massage Sequence: This is somewhat complex to describe as it depends on the general relaxation or specific target area therapy you require. Also, we might find knotted muscles or other issues during the session which may change the sequence and timing of events. Please talk to us about your individual needs. For a standard 60 minute or longer session, you normally start lying flat on your front, draped. Therapy starts on the back of body areas, then the client turns over, and proceeds with the remainder of the massage. For target-specific areas, therapy may be divided between general areas and the main issue, or solely on the primary problem, as client needs and available time allows.
Massage Table: The table has features allowing adjustment for head and body positions. Pillows and bolsters are available for positioning and comfort. Covers and drapes / towels are sanitized for your safety.
Medical History: Your honesty about your health status is important to us, in order to maximise the benefits of the clinic session. A medical condition need not preclude you from a suitably-adjusted massage in many cases.
Medication: Please advise us of any medication or over-the-counter meds / vitamins during your medical history.
Oils and Lotions: A variety of oils and lotions are available. As standard, we use either a professional quality water-miscible oil that goes on smooth and washes off easily, or an ultra-fine high glide special low-allergy mineral oil. The majority of our oils and lotions are eco-friendly, organic, or nature-friendly. Allergies are rare, but let us know before-hand if you have concerns or special medical needs. See the Eco-Friendly web page for more info.
Out-calls: A routine mobile service is offered in-home for your convenience, or anywhere there is adequate space and privacy. In-clinic services are offered on a sessional basis in some locations.
Parties/Events: Thinking of a special event, get-together or party? Why not make your event unique with a massage service made to order - from hand and foot massages to a chair massage (head/shoulders/etc) to partial / mini massages plus many more ideas - free quote.
Payment: Cash or Pay wave / Tap and Go card reader (Mastercard or Visa).
Privacy and Confidentiality: Please be assured that this business abides by the National Privacy Laws. See the documentation entry above for more information.
Referral: If we feel that we cannot assist your personal needs or therapy requirements via our massage service, we will happily attempt to assist you in referral to a specialist medical or health practitioner. We will only do this upon your permission, or for your safety.
Shaving: Shaving is your personal choice, prior to your massage session. From intimate areas to legs, arms and any body area - it is up to you and optional. We don't make comments and take you as you are. Many individuals and sports people shave various areas for practical reasons, especially their limbs. And FYI it is true that massage is certainly easier and smoother on hairless areas.
Showering: Consider your general personal hygiene before a massage just like you would normally everyday. A shower or bath is not essential prior to arriving for therapy (unless you need one), but a quick thoughtful shower or bath is always welcomed as a kind consideration to all. Please minimise the use of creams, lotions, fragrances, and cosmetics prior to massage, unless it is a health requirement.
Stiff and Sore Disclaimer: Be aware that during and after (generally with deeper) therapy, it is quite possible and normal that you may feel a little bit stiff or sore as a temporary unwanted effect of the session. Temporary headache from toxin release (from the muscles) is rare but occasionally briefly noticed. This may be despite the therapist taking all reasonable care to reduce this risk. All therapy has risks, even if they are quite low or uncommon in the case of massage therapy. By having this session, you acknowledge and are happy to undertake this risk. Thank you for your understanding.
Treatment Plan: You session plan or treatment plan is an outline or guide as to what will likely occur during the session in general terms. This may change if issues (health or time) arise during the session. Giving feedback to the therapist during the session can assist the flow of the session.
TENS Machine Therapy: Electrical nerve stimulation can ease muscle and nerve pain. This can be combined with any therapeutic session for added relief. The gentleness and type of stimulation can be varied. Please enquire.
Ultrasound Therapy: Ultrasound can ease muscle, tendon and ligament pain, fluid and swelling. It can also soften and improve blood flow, tissue healing and scars. Can be combined with any therapeutic session for added relief.
Underwear: Tops: if you are having any therapy on the upper body, you can privately change and use a drape or towel, so you can remove all upper body clothing - singlets, bras, armless t-shirts, support-wear etc. Bottoms: you can leave your underpants on, such as low cut briefs, swimwear bottoms such as small Speedos or bikinis. No boxers, wide control briefs, boy shorts, full-body-swimmers, etc that may extend over the lower back, hips, or upper leg areas - staff cannot access the full length of the muscles / tissues in these cases.
